InnoCámaras is a programme that promotes and integrates innovation into business management, aiming to serve as a strategic tool for achieving sustained growth and greater competitiveness in SMEs.
Launched by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and its regional branches, InnoCámaras is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Chambers of Commerce themselves and the Public Administration in Spain.
Its main feature is its focus on the specific demands of SMEs, through the development of a mixed diagnostic methodology, support for innovation processes and the circulation of knowledge.
This operational programme is co-financed by the ERDF and is available in regions of Spain where the Chambers of Commerce choose to participate in this initiative.
Through its participation in this programme, AbroadLink aims to finance the integration of machine translation and post-editing into its production processes. The evolution of machine translation in recent years, and specifically with the emergence of neural translation in 2017, has increased the possibilities for this technology to be used profitably in the translation production process.
Machine translation and post-editing, that is, a machine translation reviewed and verified by humans, have become increasingly important in the production processes of translation companies or the internal departments of large multinational companies. Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, Aliexpress and, needless to say, Google, have developed their own machine translation systems. R&D investment in machine translation has accelerated in the last two years, and it is expected that productivity will continue to improve over the next decade.
At AbroadLink, we do not want to miss this opportunity to offer our clients a wide range of services that can meet their demands in a more competitive and faster way. Technical translation is a field where there are great opportunities to use this emerging technology.
The InnoCámaras programme offers us the opportunity to obtain specialised advice to choose the most appropriate and sustainable technological solutions. Our ultimate goal will be to integrate customised machine translation solutions into the automated workflows of our translation management system, XTRF.
Current technological solutions for machine translation allow the creation of customised translation engines for companies and industrial sectors, which enables better results in specialised translations in medical, dental or technical fields.
