The translation agency AbroadLink closes the month of March with the implementation of a new content management system for its web. In a strategic move by the company, it adopted the open source technology Drupal, enabling the export of content in the XLIFF standard, specifically created for the translation and localisation of content.
Drupal is a CMS, or content management system, with the purpose of creating dynamic websites and with a great deal of functions. Drupal is an open source software, written in PHP, with a wide and active user community and developers that work together for continual improvement and expansion.
There are two reasons for choosing Drupal as the CMS for the management of AbroadLink's corporate web. The first reason is of a technical nature, due to Drupal's flexibility, versatility and level of development, which from a technical point of view is one of the most powerful tools according to the study carried out by AbroadLink in the open source sector. The other reason is of a commercial nature: in the medium and long term, Drupal is emerging as a platform that will be adopted by larger companies rather than other open source solutions such as WordPress or Joomla!. Therefore AbroadLink will be able to offer clients the web content maintenance work flow that it has developed internally.
In the month of March the new French version of the web page will be launched, and will have been completed entirely using the work flow established for a new CMS.
